Aussie women must do better, says sevens coach Tim Walsh

AUSTRALIA'S women's sevens coach Tim Walsh said losing to hosts the US in the quarter-finals in Atlanta was, "completely unacceptable for a team of our talent".

The Aussies managed to bounce back to claim the plate final with a 26-17 win against France, leaving the side in second place overall behind New Zealand at the half-way point of the 2014-15 world series.

England, Ireland and Wales are locked on six points, with Les Blues on four ahead of this weekend's final round of games.

England, which has a points-differential of plus 37, plays France at Twickenham, while Ireland (plus 33) takes on Scotland and Wales (plus 12) plays Italy in Rome.
