Authorities don't know cause of Brisbane's chemical spill
HYDROCHLORIC acid was the culprit for a large mop-up operation at a shipping yard in Brisbane's south.
Emergency services were called to clean up the chemical spill from a 24,000litre shipping container stored on a commercial premise at Acacia Ridge about 11.15pm on Easter Sunday.
A Department of Community Safety spokeswoman said on Monday there was no information on what had caused the spill.
She said there was a vapour from the container but people were immediately removed from the area and no one was affected.
