BACH HUNT: Joel ready to settle down
HIS friends describe him as "the most genuine, down to earth guy who deserves to find love".
And Joel says he is ready to find that lucky lady.
The 27-year-old trainee train driver said a recent career change helped spur him into action and apply for our Bachelor competition.
The former diesel fitter said he wanted to change things up when he took the new job - and thought the same might apply to relationships.
"I just really wanted to try something new," Joel said
"They say change is as good as a holiday, so I thought I'd give it a go."
After a few long-term relationships where the "spark died", Joel says he is ready to find someone who looks at life as an adventure.
"I'm just looking for someone with the same personality as me," he said.
"Someone that is fun, outgoing, always up for a laugh, and always willing to try something new.
"I am an open book to be honest. I wear my heart on my sleeve.
"I'm not afraid to tell it like it is and I am not afraid to show my emotions."
As for what Joel wants out of his life, he says he's ready to settle down with the right person and see where that leads him.
"To be honest with you, I wouldn't mind finding someone that is ready to settle down," he said.
"I'm at a stage in my life where I'm ready to settle down and eventually have kids.
"I would like to travel a bit more before that, but if it happens, it happens.
"I'm just ready to find someone who wants that too."
One thing that Joel says is a major relationship deal-breaker is someone who is messy.
"I couldn't be with someone that is lazy," he said.
"I am a bit of clean, neat freak so someone who doesn't clean up after themselves would really get to me."
