BRAZILIAN trio Roberio Gabriel, Israel Souza and Felipe Da Silva scored goals as Nerimbera Magpies inflicted Capricorn Coast's first loss of the season.

Da Silva and Gabriel scored their first goals of the season in the 3-2 win in the Round 5 CQ Premier League clash at Pilbeam Park, while Souza has found the back of the net twice in the last fortnight for the Magpies.

Souza was the standout on Saturday night with the winger's unpredictable style of play bamboozling the Capricorn Coast defenders at times.

Capricorn Coast went ahead early when Gerard Kelly scored his side's first before the 2014 premiership favourites failed to convert an opportunity shortly after, which would have put them up 2-0.

Souza equalised not long after half-time before Da Silva gave the home side's fans plenty to cheer about when he put them ahead midway through the second half.

Kelly found the back of the net to equalise, and put the Coast back into the match, before Gabriel broke the deadlock when he converted a penalty after striker Innocent Taban was brought down inside the box.

Nerimbera defender Adam Wratten said Capricorn Coast were constant threats, but praised the all-round performance of his teammates.

"Young Mitchell Hunter, he was a constant attacking threat for them for the whole game (and) Jarod Lancaster always poses a problem."

"But, more than anything our win was built on character and digging in for each other."

Striker Michael Cay scored a hat trick as reigning champions Frenchville defeated the winless Berserker 4-0 at Ryan Park on Saturday night.

Cay found the back of the net three times during the first before youngster Fortious King put the result beyond doubt with a second half goal.

Frenchville skipper Tim Hickey said Berserker fought until the final whistle.
