Bright colours a winner for Rockhampton handbag fans

SELINA Hosking believes one handbag is just not enough.

But she doesn't have a wardrobe of Carrie Bradshaw proportions.

Her collection is limited to 10 at the moment, but working at Strandbags means she's surrounded by constant temptation.

On Friday, The Morning Bulletin asked our Facebook readers how much they would spend on a handbag, and more than 30 people gave their opinions.

While some people said they'd spend up to $500 for a designer brand, most people were willing to pay between $30 and $50.

Selina said she'd seen the same thing in Strandbags, with most people paying an average of $50.

But she said they did stock some more expensive brands like Guess and Steve Madden, with prices reaching about $200.

For those who want a taste of the glamorous life without the hefty price tag, Selina said that the Kardashian Kollection range was one of the store's most popular.

When it comes to buying a bag that's bang on trend, Selina said bright pops of colour and neon tones were the most popular right now.

"The brighter the better lately," she said.

"Anything goes these days."

No matter what your handbag preference, Selina said it was all about expressing yourself.

"They're an extension of (your) personality," she said.

"They can show who (you) are through the colours and styles."
