Espresso martinis on tap: Ocean Street’s next venue revealed

A new cocktail bar slinging espresso martinis on tap is in the pipeline for the region's main entertainment strip.

Zyped will become Ocean Street's newest venue when it opens later this year.

Co-owners Lauren and Zariah Lamont are finalising development of the venue ahead of its planned opening in the coming months.

They also own Noosa Cold Brew.

Ms Lamont said the new cocktail bar would have a dedicated dance floor, DJ booth, VIP lounges and bring a new style to the Ocean Street precinct.

High-end fit-out firm Farrago had been tasked with bringing the new venue to life.

Ms Lamont said they took charge of Noosa Cold Brew just before the COVID-19 pandemic forced lockdowns.

"The venue is part of our expansion plan to deliver our nitro cold brew coffee in a range of speciality coffee liquor cocktails," Ms Lamont said.

She said their signature cold brew would be made fresh onsite, brewed over 24 hours, with nitro-infused espresso martinis to be on tap in the new bar.

"We also have created a unique selection of coffee liquor drinks and other nitro-infused cocktails bringing the first cold brew coffee bar to the region," she said.

"We are not just about coffee cocktails; as well as having all traditional cocktails, we have some fun interactive cocktails to bring to light."

The Noosa Cold Brew empire significantly expanded in the past year after it was awarded federal grant funding through the Boosting Female Founders program.

They have developed a micro canning line as part of an initiative to get their cold brew coffee in a can into speciality supermarkets around the country and overseas.

Noosa Cold Brew and its team of female founders was chosen from more than 2200 applications for the grant funding to support expansion.

Ms Lamont said Zyped was the "first venue of many to come".

"We plan to open a second venue on the Sunshine Coast in the upcoming 12 months and then vision our venues at Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney over a five-year expansion plan," she said.
