Falcons ready to swoop in on spot in Twenty20 final
CRICKET: Frenchville Falcons captain Jason Wells is looking forward to fighting it out on the cricket field on Saturday for a spot in Sunday's 2013 Frenchville Sports Club Twenty20 final.
Brothers look set to secure a place in the premier division decider, but who will join them?
While it is likely to be either the Falcons or the Gracemere Brunny Bulls, Wells said anything could happen.
"We've got the strongest line up we've had all season," he said.
"The team's looking good but you never know in Twenty20.
"It just takes one or two guys to have a good day and you're in trouble." Wells said the team was strengthened by the return of star players Brock Seigert and Scott Connor.
"They're two players who are very consistent," he said.
"They're style suits this game."
The Falcons will play the Capricorn Coast this morning at 10am, before going head to head with Gracemere at 2pm.
Wells said they would be keeping their eye on Cap Coast players Dan Eyles, Andrew Lindsay and Matthew Oates.
"I know they've done well in the past," he said.
Against Gracemere, Wells said he expected Aaron Harmsworth, Luke Johnstone and Ben Milne to be their biggest concerns.
"We're going in confident," Wells said.
"We expect it to be tough though. There will be a lot of work to do."
The premier, second and corporate division deciders will start at 3pm tomorrow at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds.
