Fire crews fight blaze in Gracemere

UPDATE 7.10pm: A GRASS fire burning in Gracemere has not yet been extinguished.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) spokeswoman said the blaze kept re-igniting which meant crews needed sufficient water which meant they could remain on scene for an hour or more.

UPDATE 6.30pm: FOUR fire crews are still fighting a blaze in Stewart St, Gracemere.

Firies were called about the grass fire at 4.40pm.

A GRASS fire 50m in length is currently burning in Stewart St, Gracemere.

Two fire crews have arrived on the scene after they were called at 4.40pm.

This comes as another crew has attended to a vegetation fire which is burning nearby on the corner of Boongary and Kabra Rds.
