UPDATE 3PM: NO cause is yet known for the fire on Rockhampton's Stenlake Ave.

The fire started and was contained to a rear bedroom of a two-storey home.

One child and two adults were in the house at the time, but were not believed to be injured or harmed during the incident.

The fire has been extinguished and crews are currently ensuring that smoke has been cleared from the residence.

Neighbours assisted in the fire service efforts.

 

BREAKING, 2.15PM: Fire fighters are at the scene of a house fire in North Rockhampton.

The fire broke out in a back bedroom at the Stenlake Ave home and is now under control.

Queensland police, ambulance and fire and rescue service crews are on scene.

There are  no initial reports of injuries.
