Five drug drivers caught in CQ
3.30pm: FIVE motorists have been charged with driving under the influence of drugs after a weekend operation involving the police roadside drug testing unit in the Rockhampton region.
A 53-year-old man from Cooee Bay tested positive for THC, a marijuana drug, on Friday night in Yeppoon Road, Barmaryee.
Officers also charged a 38-year-old man from Mt Low after he tested positive for amphetamines in Barmaryee.
On Saturday at Etna Creek, the drug testing unit nabbed a 26-year-old male truck driver for driving under the influence of amphetamines, a 25-year old man from Parkhurst who had taken cannabis and a 19-year-old woman from Salisbury, Brisbane, who tested positive for amphetamine.
On Sunday the team moved to Yeppoon and impounded the car of a driver who was disqualified.
