Fun Fair and Open Day at Uni

CQUNI'S turning 50 and everyone's invited to Fun Fair and Open Day celebration

Everyone is welcome to enjoy a Fun Fair and Open Day at CQUniversity Rockhampton North campus on Sunday from 9am to 2pm.

Celebrating 50 years since CQUni predecessor the Queensland Institute of Technology (Capricornia) was founded in Rockhampton in 1967, the free event promises something for everyone.

"Rocky families can come along to enjoy popcorn, snow cones, fairy floss, sideshow alley show rides and live music at the cheap prices of 1967,” said Kim Harrington, CQUni's Associate Vice-Chancellor (Rockhampton Region).

"Alongside course information, workshops and presentations for all study disciplines, the day will feature bands playing hits of the 1960s, birthday cake cutting (11am and 1pm), and a carnival of festival fun on our lush campus grounds. Visitors can pay just $1 for five tickets for rides or treats, which are genuine 1967 prices. So get ready to enjoy a great day out for the whole family, as CQUniversity thanks the Rockhampton community for 50 years of support, friendship and fun.”

Attractions will include a petting zoo, a mechanical bull, a rock climbing wall, dodgem cars, laughing clowns, and popular rides such as the King Flyer.
