Job seekers to learn vital skills at start-up’s event

Job seekers will receive a hand up from an e-learning start-up which promises to provide those on the hunt with enhanced skills.

TeleSkill Builders, specialising in telephone skills training, announced the launch of its free skills training sessions for job seekers on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.

“Pizza in the park training” with business founders Jacob Bamford and Mark Johnson is designed to build on participant job readiness with three areas covered:

  • Communication skills
  • Interview skills
  • Sales skills

“COVID-19 has obviously impacted a lot of people and one of the biggest challenges for job seekers at the moment is how competitive the market is,” Mr Bamford said.

“With an increase in job seekers and a decrease in opportunities, even securing an interview has become far more challenging.

“This is why having excellent job search skills is essential.”

The skills event will focus on communication, interview and sales skills, sharing best practice as well as running activities like mock interviews and role plays.

Mr Bamford said websites like seek.com.au were fantastic, but encouraged job seekers not to stop there.

“Utilise personal and professional networks, build and enhance a LinkedIn profile and don’t be afraid to knock on doors,” Mr Bamford said.

“Opening the mind to things that are new and different can also reveal opportunities.

“Whilst this is certainly a difficult period for most, it’s also the perfect time to focus on self-development, both personal and professional.

“Take the opportunity to enhance your skills and to learn new ones.”
