Mayoral bid from Rockhampton not a problem says Petros

PETROS Khalesirad doesn't see the problem if he were to be mayor of Livingstone Shire, while living in Rockhampton.

The Morning Bulletin yesterday reported that the Rockhampton businessman was considering running for the top job, and standing against Bill Ludwig.

And some people have raised concerns about Petros not living on the coast if he were to be mayor.

But Petros put it quite simply, saying: "If it's an issue I'd just move.

"People need to remember that some of the Livingstone Shire is in Rockhampton, like Rockyview. "People from Rockyview have told me they'd be happy to have me representing them because they'd get a voice," Petros said.

While he'd love to be based in Yeppoon, the businessman said he does quite a bit of work in Rocky. "Yeppoon and Rocky are neighbours, so I don't think it's an issue. "The issue right now is what are the big issues for Livingstone - that's what people should be talking about."
