JINGLE bells. Jingle bells. Jingle all the way down Musgrave Street tonight.

The Rockhampton Christmas Parade will brighten up the streets with lights and festivities tonight when over 50 floats bring Christmas cheer to town, while raising important funds for cancer research and support.

The 20th annual Christmas Parade, organised by Cancer Council Queensland and Stockland Rockhampton, will be held tonight, Thursday, November 6 from 5.30pm.

The parade will start at the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds and travel to Stockland Rockhampton via Musgrave Street, followed by a concert for the community at 7pm.

Cancer Council Queensland Fundraising Coordinator Jessica O'Neill invited the media and the community to the much-anticipated event and to take part in the festivities while supporting a worthwhile cause.

"We have a great line-up of floats entering this year so it's going to be a fabulous night out celebrating the lead up to Christmas!" Ms O'Neill said.

"Everyone who participates in the Christmas parade - whether it's by entering a float or supporting those who have - makes a vital difference in the lives of Queenslanders affected by cancer.

"All funds raised at the parade support CCQ's ongoing cancer research, prevention programs and patient support services."

Float winners will be announced at the concert following the parade at Stockland Rockhampton.
