ADVICE: Crews to monitor Bungundarra blaze today

TUESDAY: 7.35AM: FIRE crews are expected to return to a bushfire burning within containment lines at Bungundarra this morning.

The large fire was burning out of control yesterday afternoon and residents were told to be prepared to leave at one stage.

By 7pm the fire was under control and there were no crews on scene.

Crews are expected to return to the fire today to monitor the situation while the blaze remains at advice level.

7.10pm: THERE are no fire crews on the scene of a bushfire which has been burning in the Bungundarra area since this afternoon. 

THE bushfire warning level remains on 'advice' so properties are not under direct threat. 

The blaze had been burning in the vicinity of Browns Lane and Howes Rd.

6.10pm: ONE fire crew remains on the scene of a blaze in the Bungundarra area this evening. 

The fire continues to burn in the Browns Lane and Howes Road areas, but properties are not under direct threat.

5.10pm: QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services have downgraded the bushfire warning to 'advice' for the current blaze at Bungundarra. 

At 4pm, the bushfire was burning in the Browns Lane and Howes Road areas. 

Five fire crews are working to contain the blaze. 

People in the area will be affected by smoke which will reduce their visibility and air quality.

3.10pm: A resident of the Bungundarra area said Brown's lane was closed at Farnborough Road and Woodbury Rd.

Initially the fire, which started about 1pm has produced lots of flames, but it appears fire fighters have the situation under control.

The resident said this fire was located closer to the Woodbury area.

BUNGUNDARRA residents are being told to prepare to leave as an out of control bushfire threatens properties.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has said conditions could get worse and residents need to be prepared.

As of 1.50pm the large bushfire is burning on the southern side of Browns Lane and travelling in a westerly direction towards Woodbury Road.
