State's best golfers to tee off in CQ Junior Open
GOLF: Caleb Scott will be among the local hopefuls shooting for success in this weekend's Central Queensland Junior Open.
More than 90 golfers will tee off in the opening round at Capricorn Resort tomorrow.
Play continues at the Yeppoon Golf Club on Sunday, with players returning to the Capricorn Resort for the final round on Monday.
Scott said players from Brisbane to Cairns had nominated for what was always a high-quality tournament.
The 18-year-old, who plays off a handicap of three, said a score in the 70s would be a good start to the event for him.
Scott said he had gained some valuable experience from his recent trip to the US, where he finished 11th in the World Stars of Junior Golf in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was second in the AAU West Coast Olympics in Temecula, California.
This weekend's open doubles as a qualifier for the Greg Norman Junior Masters in December.
