Stolen car involved in hit and run found

UPDATE 5.20PM: A STOLEN car involved in a number of crimes, including a hit and run, was located by police this afternoon at a Berserker address. 

Authorities confirmed the 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander was stolen from Thozet Rd overnight and was sighted with three people inside.

It is believed the car was involved in a hit and run with a taxi in East St at 11am this morning, as well as a break and enter overnight involving credit cards being stolen.

It's believed the stolen car ran up the back of the taxi, causing significant damage to the taxi and to have damage to the front end of the Outlander.

Police located the car at an address in Card St, Berserker at 2.05pm.

The car was seized but no charges have been laid at this time.

EARLIER TODAY: POLICE are searching for a vehicle stolen overnight that has been involved in a number of crimes, including a hit and run this morning.

Reports indicate the tan 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander was stolen from Thozet Rd overnight and was last seen with three people in it.

It is believed it was involved in a hit and run with a taxi on East St about 11am this morning, as well as a break and enter overnight involving credit cards being stolen.

The stolen vehicle ran up the back of the taxi, causing significant damage to the taxi and is believed to have damage to the front end of the Outlander.

Reports indicate a female about 18-22 years-old with medium to short dark hair was last seen driving the vehicle with a male in the front seat and a third person in the back.

The registration is 159 RAP. Police believe car may have been abandoned in Rockhampton CBD.
