UPDATE: Elderly cyclists' condition improved to stable

UPDATE THURSDAY: AN ELDERLY man remains in a stable condition at a Brisbane after he sustained serious injuries in a bicycle vs vehicle accident in North Rockhampton on Tuesday morning. 

The crash occurred at the corner of Dooley St and Robison St, Park Avenue at 6.30am.   The man, who is in his 80s, suffered severe head, chest, abdominal, pelvic and arm injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Hospital.   He was then transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital where his condition has improved. 

UPDAT TUESDAY, 4.15PM: An elderly man is being transferred to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital after his bicycle collided with a vehicle in Park Avenue this morning.

The crash occurred at the corner of Dooley St and Robison St at 6.30am.

The man, who is in his 80s, suffered severe head, chest, abdominal, pelvic and arm injuries and he was transported to Rockhampton Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition awaiting hospital transfer.

INITIAL: An elderly man was badly injured after his bicycle collided with a vehicle in Park Avenue this morning.

The crash occurred at the corner of Dooley St and Robison St at 6.30am.

Queensland Ambulance Service said a man in his 80s suffered severe head, chest, abdominal, pelvic and arm injuries and he was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious condition.

Queensland Police said the Forensic Crash Unit attended the scene.
