Women's Qld Cup mission complete

THE awesome foursome of Sonia Steffen, Kerri Collins, Kylie Ingram and Kerry Spengler triumphed at the Queensland Cup pool tournament.

Led by manager Jay Spengler, the Rockhampton women's team travelled south to contest the recent competition, staged at the Gold Coast's Snooker World.

The foursome, fondly known as "Mission Complete" did just that, beating 14 teams from throughout Queensland.

Their success saw the team claim the Queensland Cup, which was a first for any Central Queensland team, male or female, player Ingram said.

Following an intense three days of round-robin games against state-level competitors, the Rockhampton team progressed to the grand final against Brisbane City.

Fighting back from 3-1 down against Brisbane City, Mission Complete secured the cup in a thrilling 6-5 victory.

The Queensland Cup was a massive event for pool in the state and the members of the team were ecstatic to come home winners, Ingram said.
